Nintendo NX LATEST RUMORS! - The Know

Semi Accurate... That name's about as bad as a comedy channel named Kinda Funny

It's a smartphone.

I'm at the point now where I'm completely unsure if Nintendo cares about making a competitive console or has conceded that PS4/4.5 are the dominant players and hope to last long enough till smartphones dominate the console market like they've threatened to since their inception.

I'm comfortably sure we're still atleast 5 years away from smartphones hitting the Plug-and-Play point to be steam-certified (or whatever platform they would use) and realistically 10 from a point where we could phase out consoles completely. So we're still probably going to see atleast one more generation of dedicated consoles or even two if graphics continue to advance exponentially for the time being.

Course the president's translated interview is all puffery, nothing of substance but it once again suggests the NX is going to be a lightweight PS4 rival....But at what cost? Do I really need to splurge and grab a WiiU when they go on clearance just to get my mario fix, Nintendo? :(

I'm really hoping the rumors about the NX being shown at the Tokyo Game Show come true. I'll be arriving in Tokyo a couple days before and plan on going, so that'd be a nice surprise

As long as they actually make good on what they're saying about trying to have some good games on the NX it can have the graphical power of a N64 for all I care.
