Would preorder nx for retro cartridges.
this makes sense to me, optic has being a dying media. We now how SSD and ROM chips are bigger and better now, not to mention *hopefully* we can cut down on release update downloads. They are more resilient to physical damage and have faster load times. I like Nintendo for trying new things in this respect.
Meg, sorry to say, I don't think that counts as a top. Or, I just don't get out enough and this is what the popular people are wearing.
Idk, not trying to sound like an ass but I'm just speaking my mind but if I come off as an ass I'm sorry.
If anyone needs me I'll be back in 1983.
That top is very distracting....Mario as Indy is pretty sweet... Oh yea, Meg's top is nice too. Joking aside, specifically the dual layer Bluray is capable of 50gb. Single layer is ~25gb. Not all games take up the full space either. AC4, Infamous Second Son, Tomb Raider: DE, Dragon Ball Xenoverse, Sunset Overdrive, Watch Dogs, and Thief are all games I own that would fit onto a single layer disc, not to mention the NX's new "cartridge" style medium. I would prefer to call it a card or a chip, if it's really based on something like an SD card, but that's just me. I think of a cartridge as part of the machine that helps run the game. Without the components in the cartridge that aid in the processing power, the console would perform poorly. Again, that's just how I feel about it.
I would like to thank Meg, personally, for wearing that top.
Meg, I can't concentrate on the story.
This video either has a lot of technobabble or I am a lot more tired than I think I am. I do like the idea of a retro cartridge games though, something about that instantly activates collector/hoarder mode in me. Nintendo is good at that.
Also, Meg that top is hella cute and with your hair, you look like a modern fantasy mage or something.
I've given up any hope for Nintendo
Cartridge based console means that it wouldn't be backwards compatible with the Wii U discs.
Megs top is real cute this episode
After you showed the WiiU tablet I'm thinking that the NX might be a hybrid between a handheld and home console. It kind of seems like it will be a slightly smaller tablet controller that you can insert the cartridge in when you want to take it on the go but then insert it into the home console when you want to play it at home. At least, that seems like a fairly logical step for Nintendo, considering their previous system releases.
Also, there could be different game modes depending on whether you at home or on the go. For on the go gaming it could be similar to what Pokemon GO is rumored to be and with local/NFC/WiFi multiplayer, along with specific minigames or quests, and then at home it could have a full online multiplayer.
Yeah nanometers are fucking small. A friend of mine showed me the wiki page, and the size of 14 nm chips are a handful of ATOMS.
Here's a good article on chip size, ctrl+f 'atom' to get to the good stuff.
I have faith in Nintendo, I hope they keep us all posted with details. From cloud-based graphics to tiny processors all in a cheap price tag I'm all ears and look forward to the next wave of information.
edit: and cartridges, can't forget about the cartidges. much hype.
