Assassin's Creed CANCELED in 2016?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't someone at Ubisoft say that ancient Egypt was a terrible era for ac?

The fact that the movie is coming out makes me think that this is not the end of AC games, any advertising for the movie will effectively double as game advertising. Ubisoft will likely want to capitalize on the additional hype surrounding the movie for their next game.

A reset would be kind of ridiculous at this point. They are just getting to the height of the Juno storyline by the end of Syndicate, why would they just drop that entirely and be like "fuck it, here's Egypt, we guess..."

The rest of the story seems decently feasable, with a Collection coming this year and a new game in 2017, but at the very least I would expect it to continue the story, not reboot it.

I could believe the hiatus with the collection pack and movie coming out, but Egypt not so much. Ancient Greece would awesome tho.

If this is some how true, thank God, they can slow down and make the game work.

I hope the 2016 bit never ends. i found those video's and linked them too all my friends, it was a great time.

It's about time. Ubisoft has been getting greedy with their AC releases and I think it's finally catching up with them. They aren't Call of Duty, they aren't getting 3 years development on each installment. The Call of Duty series is mostly similar (now), but at least each one has somewhat different gameplay, and isn't riddled with bugs.

tl;dr Assassin's Creed needs a break to not be filled with bugs. Plus, it'll make people want the game more, not having it for a year.
