I just want KotOR 3.
Will never happen. BioWare have been on record multiple times that The Old Republic MMO finishes off that story. So much so that you get closure to the exiles story in the mid levels (around the 30's) in story flashpoints to playthrough in groups, at the same time it picks up Revan's story, ending in the Shadow of Revan expansion released in 2014.
SPORTS RPG!
My favorite parts of any Bioware game, are the characters, the world building, and the storylines; so if they deliver that with some good & polished gameplay, that's good for me.
I just don't want the MMO elements that keep popping up in games recently; e.g. random number generator loot systems; microtransactions; and super massive environments, just for the sake of being super massive. I don't have time for that kind of grind.
EA, forcing their dev companies to alienate their core playerbases for a potential chance at greater profit? SAY IT AIN'T SO!
Goodbye, BioWare. You shall be missed. Much like Bullfrog.
And again, they'll have no idea why the company will have stopped being profitable.
BioWare has been nothing more than a name since the doctors left in 2012.
I don't like the phrase "breaking away from the core audience", it always sounds like "let's make mobile games!".
New camera? Or is it just me?
This is horrible news if true it means we are losing a great RPG company and RPG's in general are a dying genre
They are probably thinking why spend so much time making a great rpg, a game with a rich story, great characters and cool world to explore when you can make just a bland crappy action/FPS game that will make just as much money, this is awful news.
Mass Effect was an Action-RPG though? Since that EA infographic didn't have an RPG block, it's also very possible that BioWare was listed under Action instead. This seems way too speculative to be actual news imo
It did have an RPG category, actually. Sadly.
BioWare's the only company still making story-driven RPGs. Not that Bethesda doesn't, but theirs are more world-based than character-based. There are few enough RPGs these days to begin with.
I think cd projekt red would disagree
Yeah, but they're not coming out with anything anytime soon.
Shocked? Where are you been last decade? I mean, you keep calling Mass Effect an RPG when it's a TPS with RPG elements. It's a game about shooting dudes in the face. It's a fun game, it's a good game, and it's not an RPG.
Now you're telling me the next Mass Effect might get jetpacks and Titanfall-level ridiculousness? Fuck. Yes.

Action or RPG? Why not both?
I was wondering if they forgot about the Action / RPG genre when making this.
