There's a lot of fault to be found in all of this, and you can justifiably bitch and rage at just about any of it. But even though EA is quite possibly the fucking devil, the problem was when Disney said "Oh yeah, we'll let the Devil have sole butt-fucking rights to our new property, Star Wars." EA is an atrocious publisher, developer and company, and should never have been allowed exclusive rights to Star Wars gaming. Look at the trash game they created with Battlefront, and the umpteen different mobile games that aren't worth the bandwidth to even load the app store preview of them.
Sure, the guys behind Galaxy in Turmoil don't seem like the brightest bulbs on Broadway at this point, BUT THEY'RE NOT THE FUCKING DEVIL... I'll fucking shoot down some q-wings, and pay full price for their IP, just because FUCK EA.
I understand if they were going to sell the game and make money, but its free to play. They wont be making a dime off it. EA is probably just afraid that GIT will be better than theirs.
What a pain that this got shut down...especially after Battlefront was such a disappointment.
It stinks but it makes sense. They knew the risks going into this and it looks like it didn't end up as bad for them as it could have been, they still get to make a game, it just wont be Star Wars.
it was going to happen but it FUCKING SUCKS BECAUSE BATTLEFRONT (the EA one) SUCKS
Honestly it's amazing it took this long
I mean realistically there was no way they were going to allow it to happen. The best they could have hoped for was EA agreeing to the pay wall thing they were talking about, but even that was pretty unlikely.
EA rabble rabble, corporate greed rabble rabble ruined everything rabble
Honestly I'm hoping they can use the framework to make their own ground-to-space combat game.
Only a matter of time before they kill the huskified version of KOTOR.
i think ES lost some sales. If they had just allowed it to be released as free DLC for thier battlefront, Myself and many others would have actually considered buying EA's game.
