I have it for the PC and its having so much trouble starting. Since it is day 1 there are no good fixes as of now.
I agree, I have instant crashes too. Hopefully a patch will be coming within the week. It's a shame, but now-a-days most PC games are rather rocky right out of the gate.
"Because they don't enjoy crafting or resource collection, but if you do(Looking at you Jack)..."
I personally feel like this game is bad. To me it's like a gigantic cookie clicker. You click and click and click until you get a factory then you click some more for a bigger factory. Then you are in an endless cycle of buying bigger ships for more storage for bigger ships. I will not play unless they add a way to find friends and build a base.
I think I do remember hearing something (It may have even been the patch), that in the next update, they could be adding bases. However, don't quote me on that, because I'm not certain.
Evildeath67, they did say that. I am scared about how it will be done though. I think they said you can have bases. Which to me implies you buy one like gta.
seems like you can get a better survival game for half the price on steam....and it will actually work!! Without true multiplayer and base-building I really don't see a point in this game. Spoole was right all along.
Seems kind of like Minecraft but in space, minus the building and getting to play with your friends. This game will not be eating into my Overwatch time.
I like the game so I'll play it, though i won't ever bash someone who doesn't like it. Minecraft was for me, Destiny was a great team game, Helldivers was enjoyable, Alien Isolation was brilliant, and now i'm adding this to the list for just one more outlet on a varied pallet. Play it cause you like it, never because someone else said you should.
I totally agree. I can see why it doesn't appeal to everyone, and I can also see why it seemed like a different game for awhile, but for someone like me who loves exploring and wandering and setting my own goals and everything, this game is great.
Even after hearing about it for two years, I knew it wasn't going to be a game I'd buy. The only definitive knowledge about the game that we had that wasn't hype or rumor was that you would explore space. I really like exploration in games, but I also like getting a pay off for straying off the beaten bath. Like "ooh, a secret boss!" or "ooh! secret treasure!" or "ooh! secret shortcut portal!" etc etc. Sometimes theres a payoff, sometimes theres not. But theres always the possibility. A game solely about wandering around doesn't seem engaging when theres nothing to actually do.
Whenever I have an issue with a review, I think about Telltale's Walking Dead. I refuse to play that game, and I don't care how "good" it is. I don't do zombies, so I will never have fun with it.So if someone else isn't enjoying a game I like, so be it.
The only exception is in Final Fantasy. No matter what anyone else says, VI was best, and X was a steaming pile of shit.
Hear hear!
But be honest, 7 was pretty fucking fun. 9 was a refreshing harkening back to the pre-7 era. 13 had amazing characters and story, even if it was more linear than a ruler.
X-2 should never be mentioned. Ever. Nor should 12. 11 and 14 should have been aborted. 8 was the most asinine dumbing down of an RPG system until X came along.
Basically, after 7, somebody at Square lost their goddamned mind.
No Man Sky screams of the things I like, but at the same time I haven't bought it yet because people and reviews have voiced things I utterly dislike. I love exploring, surviving, gathering resources, crating, and think the trading mechanics are cool. It's literally a game tailored to me. However, I hate super intense resource management, and since there is no base system or hub for you to store shit and design, I feel even less enthused about it. Double that with the fact that there's no true multiplayer system where I can extend the longevity of the playtime with friends, and I find myself sad about not wanting a game I've been wanting to own for over two years
You can buy more slots for your inventory. the largest ship I've seen is 48 slots, and suit inventory seems to max around the same so far. But, all in all, it isn't a bad idea to wait until the next update maybe to see the direction they are taking it if you are uncertain.
So, about the 'patterns emerging.' that's kind of bull. It sounds like all these reviewers were so eager to be the first out that they didn't give the game the amount of time it needs to unfold itself. Just tonight, I hit a black hole, dropped on the first planet by the station and found the most ridiculous life forms. It was amazing! From a giant t-rex to an indescribable insectoid velociraptor, to a cow that had 3 tiny legs coming from each leg where the hooves should have been. Try to call that a pattern. Sean Murray said there will be barren planets, inhospitable worlds you'll leave in your dust, but he also said there will be planets you won't want to leave, and that is true for me. If every planet was awesome, there would be no reason to explore, no drive to move on to something better. Having mediocrity, or downright boring planets just drives you onward. This is why I never read reviews, I make my own decisions. I will never tie myself and my enjoyment to the opinion of someone who is trying to make money off of their opinion. They always add something, just a seed of negativity. It can ruin my enjoyment, so I sit and happily play my games while the internet burns down in the background trying to yell loudest that they're right. In the end, whether or not you like a game only affects you. It does suck when your friends buy into negative hype around a decent game and drop out early though.

Meh, I'm still having a great time and finding new things at over 30 hours, so I'm happy. Too bad for the issues with PC, though.
Agreed. I was on the fence about whether to go PC or PS4 and I'm glad I went PS4, though I think down the line the PC might wind up being a better option once the bugs get sorted out.
Well, its always sad when fans can't enjoy the game, and PC seems to have been having a lot of shitty launches lately. But I did have hopes for getting it on PC eventually. Especially if HG ever allows mod support.
