I'm looking forward to all the DLC, I haven't got a season pass (yet?), and I don't mind this at all. I'm just excited to get more Fallout.
But will we get good weapons from any of these?
Thanks for the heads up, just bought the pass, and I am ok with the price increase. Players who show their support early by paying the $30 deserve the savings and even at $50 you still save money on the DLC any way you look at it.
I'm lucky that my roommate got me the Season Pass as a Christmas gift, so I'm all about this haha.
I do have a problem though. The "developers" don't set the prices. Especially at a big company like Bethesda, the game developers are just trying to make a great game and make a living off of it. In a company like that, they have a separate team setting the price of the games. It's not fair to let the developers take the shit for something that is out of their control.
That's actually something I hadn't considered:
Perhaps this whole thing is the result of developer vs publisher interaction. The devs say "wow we have all these cool DLC ideas" and the publishers say "if its THAT MANY ideas we need to charge more".
I got the season pass at release so I'm not affected by the price increase. I knew that I wanted to play the DLC whenever it was coming out so I bought it early without hesitation because I knew that it would end up costing more if I waited. That being said, I could have waited a year or two after the release and get the entire game with all DLC on sale from steam and not have spent as much money as I did, but I wanted to play it now and not be behind with the times.
I'm sure they have it "planned" right now which is why they're asking for $50 instead of leaving it until after the DLC starts dropping. But, with it being only in the planning stages, nothing is ready so they can't announce what might come in case it doesn't pan out or they don't want to give away the secret in case the overall structure of it changes and it's no longer what was promised.
I aint gonna get the dlc, was a big fan of fallout but i got bored of this game very quickly
The Mechanist?
Guess it's time to dust off my Silver Shroud costume :P
I personally can't support a game that depends on its community to fix the game at launch like Fallout 4. Release the game in the best possible state with the mindset that no one is going to to mod the game. That way its the most complete base game you can release and any mods afterwards from the community is extra content instead of mods that fix the game.
I don't like them raising the price of the season pass. They should of waited until they had a better idea of what DLC they were doing before they came out with a price.
I'm fine with it, so long as the future content they've alluded to beyond the first batch justifies the increase. I think if they had just bumped the price up with the announcement it would've been wrong, but letting people know a half month ahead of time is more than enough. They're still committed to the creation kit and other free updates, so if they've determined more money is needed to keep the projects alive I say go for it. Better than it being abandoned for newer projects immediately.
Also, considering the amount of content already existing in the game now, compared to the amount of money I've put in, I'm more than willing to pay more for more content. And yes, I did buy the season pass after the announcement. Just needed the additional info first.
This is how I feel about this.
Hey, shit happens.

It stinks that the season pass is getting its price raised but honestly its fine because we get more content and people still have plenty of time to get in on the low season pass price. I already have the season pass so this just means more dlc content for me.
