Ubisoft Killing Off Singleplayer Games?

I like ones like this, especially these two as "Anchors", I always come away with new knowledge, feeling like someone let me in on something i should "Know" without really telling me how i should think about it.

I think that multiplayer only and online focused games are the reason why I don't care for a lot of games these days. I love Assassin's Creed and Watch Dogs, plus I've completed every Halo solo legendary but I rarely touch the PvP side for any Halo (at least these days). When the multiplayer aspect is fun and engaging, I can tolerate it for a few matches, but when it comes to time spent in PvE as opposed to PvP, I play about 85-90% in PvE. I prefer when there is an optional co-op element more than head-to-head simply because I can pull my own weight and it's fun to have someone to talk to while we're both experiencing a story.

Yes.  Not surprised this is happening.  Wondering why it is taking them his long to figure it out.

But I do love my single player experiences.

I had to stop the video 20 seconds in. "The Data." I had to curse it.

I've left comments on other videos from The Know about it. I've seen it first hand as I work in QA. But I really, REALLY, hate when companies make decisions based on the data only. It feels as they don't want to make games. Just money.

While it absolutely makes sense on a business standpoint to focus on making money, you lose the drive for actual improvement and wanting to make games. The developers, who aren't taking the decisions, will get burned out of making things that they don't necessarily want to make.

Also, I don't play that many multiplayer games.

gta online is fun IF you dont get into a room of trash talking awful people which seldom happens.  If you have a decent group of people to play with/against its fun but i gave up on online play years ago as there are just so many people out there who make it no fun at all. I honestly cant remember the last time i really played anything multiplayer its more aggravating/depressing than fun

Ubisoft's shift towards multiplayer is something that I've expected for quite a while. I was honestly surprised when Farcry Primal ended up being a single player only game. I like that Ubisoft is shifting its attention towards better multiplayer experiences but I still want another title in the UbiArt framework because I adored Child of Light and Valiant Hearts. I would like to go back and see whats been done to The Division since I stopped playing it in April. Although it will be a hard sell to convince my friends to join me in the game since I'm the one that dragged them into the game in the first place. And playing that game with friends will be the only thing that keeps me in a game like that, It's the only reason I stayed on destiny.
