the fact that Link isn't a girl doesn't change much to the game or story because link is truly just a vessel or a medium for the player, which is why he doesn't talk at all through the games. I am excited though, that there is a change up, and I don't have to stare at the same character again. just as long as I'm not forced to call her Linkle

The only problem with Link being a female is if Link is an adult. Because then they would still leave Link as gender ambiguous. That's a big problem because an adult female Link needs to be anime style. So like Fujiko, but blonde.

Link having a female alt is a pretty cool lots would would rather play female.

You can bet the die hard fans will be upset though, which makes no sesne .....heck you could swap him out with a walking frog and it wouldn't make a difference seeing as he is mute and void of any personality.

Whether Link is male or female doesn't matter as you need to remember that the character of Link changes nearly every game, and the 'curse' mentioned in Skyward Sword only says the 'spirit of a hero' not the 'dick of a hero.' Statistically speaking, it would be bound to happen sooner or later for one of the reincarnations. That 'blood of the goddess' part of the curse is a little trickier.
