Nintendo Fan Games BANNED from The Game Awards?

I mean...this is absolutely no surprise. And I don't blame Nintendo for having such a hard stance on this sort of thing considering that it's usually done to attract or maintain investors and shareholders.

The info about the developers of Pokémon Uranium continuing to support the game might be old info. Sometime between the last know video and this one, I had learned that the developers couldn't support it anymore and now the community has taken up support of the online part of it.

I can't check right now if this is still the case, I can suggest investigating the Pokemon Uranium Discord server or subreddit for more info

At what point does some company decide to enter the same market as Nintendo (Children's and Family games) and trounce them simply because the fans don't get screwed over by the company? It could even be Sony or Microsoft if they got their head out of their hyperrealistic butts and started promoting addictive games (though, granted, Destiny was a good start with that but aim at younger kids and you get them hooked for life!)

AMR2 was great! They should still get a shout out at the game awards.

Damn.  If that is true that sucks.  Pokémon Uranium is great and looks nice.

Think of it in this scenario: the fan-made game has content to which Nintendo disagree with (e.g., politics, sexually explicit materials), it'll damage the reputation of the company even if they had no part in the creation of those games simply because the developers are tacking on their IP. Especially a company like Nintendo that tries hard to keep their brand family-friendly. I'm not saying that the two games mentioned has any content like that, but if Nintendo allows these games, other developers will.

Also, it's ironic that the so-called "fan"-developers are marketing themselves with Nintendo IP. If they are true fans, they wouldn't need to use the IP's of the game they claim to be fans of to be successful. The fact that they still refuse to change their name just shows that these "fans" are just using Nintendo to promote their game. So who's immoral now?

And lastly, how on earth did you guys think that it's a good idea to report with such a biased and skewed view? To instigate a mob?

It's understandable that Nintendo has to protect their IP. What isn't understandable though is that you never hear about this sort of thing from any other game developers towards their fans, unless the fan made game is directly trying to make money. Particularly not the big name developers. So the question is why is it that Nintendo feels the need to do this sort of thing, when clearly other developers don't?
