Next Season
I feel like this is an even more complex issue because of how new the VR market is. On one hand DRM could help push competitiveness between developers/OEMs, but on the other hand could alienate the consumer. VR needs traction and the last thing it needs right now is to get whittled down with controversy, piracy and poor public awareness.
LOVE your blue hair Meg!
So as far as I'm aware Lucky is not in charge of the rift anymore because it was sold off to Facebook. So any changes that happen is made by Facebook. Now as far as I'm aware no piracy has taken place as in the games have been purchased on a platform and that platform is the PC. Now the thing about Oculas Rift and HTC Vive is that those are devices not platforms. You're plugging in a Rift & Vive into a PC with a windows OS, a device not a platform. A platform is an Xbox or a Playstation because it has it's own OS not to just purchase but to play games on. I don't own a Rift or Vive yet but will be and can't say this for sure but I'm guessing each device doesn't have an OS or at least not in the likes of Mac/Win/X1/PS4. So this DRM thing on the Rift is a measure for people to buy the Rift because they are trying to lockout the ability to play on a different device!
Meg is totally Bulma!!
