As someone who is part of the NMS reddit community, he never said he beat the game in 20-30 hours. He said it is possible if you do nothing but abuse one thing and rush towards the center.

I just got to throw out there, if this guy was so impatient he paid $1300 instead of just waiting a week, than how patient do you think he was with his journey to the center? They always said you could reach the center quickly, although I think early estimates were more in the 40-50 hours range for a straight shot. The whole "getting lost in the galaxy" part comes from not running to the center, but exploring around the rest of the galaxy first, and spending a fair amount of time on each planet. I believe he also abused a high value item to level up quickly, but I might be mistaken on that, who knows whats true on reddit or what someone is making up because no one can dislike the thing they love. The glitches don't surprise me, they are generally pretty common in sandbox games since there is a level of unpredictability with NPCs, plus that whole (hopefully) day one patch thing. Personally, as long as I can free roam in space and explore planets, I'll be happy.
