Listen, I love The Know, but one of the benefits of paying for a First membership is not having to watch ads, and for regular members and Youtube watchers, they've already watched one ad. It's a bit redundant and annoying.
I think the Sponsors and the ads are two different things. normally they are talking about their experience with a sponsered product, or have the product in hand so they will still promote them in the video. personally I have found that usually the sponsored product very cool like MVNT watches, plus its not as bad as watching the same ad replay over and over
Yes, but they used to do these at the end of the video at least.
They are a business.
Might also note that "tagged on" ads (the ones that are not strictly part of he video) may not happen due to ad blockers. Also First members get a _lot_ of benefits, complaining about the odd few videos that have ads for everyone seems a little picky... also, see above.
I have honestly been finding lets plays like AH more useful than Actual reviewer like say Angry Joe. Partly because I get tired of hearing different people tear into some game and how everything is bad. I feel like LPs are a better look at a game regardless if the players are made to say all kinds of nice things or not, getting an hour or more look into the game shows me how well mechanics work etc. etc. instead of some one stating their opinion on how they don't like it when I might.
Personally, I don't see anything wrong with what they're doing. Like you said, they are a business and they need to make money. If reviews are really important to you, you can easily wait a day or even a week for reviews. Personally, I loved Skyrim so much that I would probably buy the special edition if I had a well paying job and an Xbox One. I might even do the same for Dishonored 2 since I also really liked the first one.
So what kind of material was Ashley's shirt made out of. I have no fashion knowledge so it just looks weird to me. I'm sure it's very comfortable and trendy.
Nice Glasses Guys.
I use you guys to see to see if I would buy a game of not.
Not mention you guys show me games I wouldn't necessary see.
I feel like i don't want to buy anymore bethesda products. with how they did fallout 4 i don't have any faith that elder scrolls 6 will be good. they keep dumbing down the game
For those also interested, like me, in the stats on the pie chart here is an ordered list - I found it interesting reading:
22% - Interesting Story/Premise
15% - Price
11% - Word of Mouth
10% - Product is a Continuation of a Favourite Game Series
8% - Product is Familiar to Me from Past Experiences
7% - Quality of the Graphics
5% - Educational Value
4% - Look of the Packaging
4% - Allows for Multiple Players at a Single Location
4% - Online Game Play Capability
3% - Product Reviews in Magazines and Video Game Websites
2% - Reputation of the Software Publisher/Developer
2% - Product's Rating from ESRB
2% - Other
1% - Advertising
To me some of the more interesting numbers (assuming this is accurate; which the interesting numbers might suggest it isn't exactly) are the difference a Reputation makes (I suspect YMMV with some publishers here), Advertising (I would suggest people don't realise how subliminal advertising is; e.g. you can't buy a product you don't know about), Allows for Multiple Players at a Single Location (this suggests that a lot of AAA titles are leaving money on the table (baring Nintendo) here as it is apparently as important as Online Play!)
Very amusing that Educational Value is seventh, ahead of a good chunk of other stuff! Apparently there is a lot of demand for educational games, more even than online or local multiplayer games. Also amusing is that a lot of the "value-added" parts of that publishers add rather than developers make are really not worth that much - apparently - advertising, product ratings, reputation, sending out copies for review and packaging - that last being being the only one to even tie with things the developer can add to the game except for maybe price - but that is likely negotiated between developer and publisher I guess? (Not in either business these days so don't know how it works any more.
When I don't see reviews up for a game before it launches, it just makes think that the developers/publisher (mainly publishers) do not have confidence in the quality of their work. I love when I see a game like the Witcher 3 that had reviews out a full week in advance, it shows confidence in their work.
On a side note, games developed by Bethesda Game Studios are a buggy mess, whereas games published by Bethesda Softworks, but developed by another studio, are usually fairly solid at launch.
Good! Screw the media reviews, I couldn't possibly care less what critics think. If I'm not sure if I want to buy a game I don't need a biased source telling me if I should, and as soon as the game comes out the critic scores don't matter anyway because then the whole internet will be flooded by the opinions of gamers. Then no one will care what initial critics thought, and choose what to buy based on the consensus of people that have nothing to gain by critiquing a game in one way or another. If I don't know if I want a game I watch let's plays online and make the judgement myself. Game critics, like movie critics, are just people refusing to understand that the evolution of technology is making their jobs obsolete
Eh I'm okay with it. I enjoy reading reviews but I don't really need them day one. If I do preorder a game its for a series I'm in love with (like starcraft 2) and from a developer(Blizzard) i trust to have the game working day one. Other than that I try to stay away from day one games so I don't get burned. Reviews are useful though but I rarely ever take into account just one opinion. I tend to read Gameinformers reviews(cuz I tend to have similar opinions as they do) first and watch 2 or three reviews on youtube and if they all say the game is great then awesome...if not then that's not a buy for me. It really does just come down to the purchaser making an informed decision.
Am i the only one who "reads" reviews not to see if the game is fun but if it works? and if reviews have no effect on sails then why stop, unless your trying to hide some thing that dose not work. also everyone who has ever played a Bethesda game knows and i think expects the odd glitch here and there ( or everywhere) P.S. sorry for spelling and grammar
Though I agree with you guys that Bethesda has a reputation for buggy games, Dishonored is only published by Bethesda, the developer being Arkane Studios (they have an office in Austin, they might welcome a visit from you, who knows ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ) and they don't seen to suffer from bugs as much (at least I didn't experience any bugs in Dishonored 1, while it's hard to do a bug free playthrough in Skyrim, for instance), so hiding that Dishonored 2 might ship with some serious flaws seems a bit far-fetched from what we currently know.
On the other hand, Skyrim Special Edition didn't ship with any extra bug fixes over the regular version, so there's that.
